* This site is dedicated exclusively to N scale railroad models.
..The Greatest Hobby in the World..

Welcome to our online store !
  • If you are already an N gauge fan, skip the rest of this page and proceed straight to our online Gallery. We hope you will find something interesting there.
  • If not yet a fan (we are sure you soon will be), keep reading.
  • Judging by the fact that you are here, we assume that you already know what is "N scale". However, in case we are wrong, here are some guide lines:
  • 9 mm gauge rails
  • 12v DC powered
  • Scale range: 1:160 to 1:180

  • Why "N", what is so special about it ?

Well... If you already have one, you know exactly why. If not yet, if you're just thinking about "N", you are on the right path because:
  • It's a perfect size for in-house use and some of the finest models on the market.
  • It is small enough to be cute (for reference, the most common HO scale, 16 mm gauge, is almost twice bigger).
  • It is BIG enough to enjoy all the fine details without a microscope (for example, the tiniest, Z scale, 5 mm gauge, is almost twice smaller).
  • Sure, in miniature modelling "smaller is better". But only whilst the model remains detailed enough and the prototype is still recognizable.
  • Unlike Z scale, N scale models don't have to sacrifice details to fit the size, so they are fully detailed and prototype-accurate.
  • Of course bigger scales models can be even more prototype-accurate, but still nobody can compete with 1:1 scale - real trains.
  • Besides, N scale is much less space consuming. You can build a simple layout even on a coffee table.
  • If you have more room, even better: Using the same space N scale allows 2x2=FOUR times more rich layout than HO.
  • By popularity N scale is the second (yet) and fastest growing standard in the model railroading industry.
  • Also (very important) all N scale models are cross-compatible, all are 9 mm gauge and 12V DC powered.

  • Why models, why railroads ?

  • First: Because railroads and trains ARE special. They are an obvious (and quite impressive) display of human engineering skills. Especially steam locomotives, where the engineering is not humbly hidden under the hood, but quite opposite - it is proudly exposed.
Remember your childhood trill watching trains? Many will admit they STILL have it. No doubts, trains are well deserving of that (maybe more than any other "Engineering marvels")..
  • Second: because models are much more fascinating and slightly less expensive than real trains.
Perhaps, when you were a kid, you had your own railroad and you still remember how you loved it. From our childhood we all carry that love of fine small things. Especially when they represent SUCH huge prototypes.
  • But: if your interest in model railroads is based on your childhood memories, keep in mind that most likely it was HO scale, 16 mm gauge, and a funny little loco was not a model, it was a toy. Real models in HO scale are NOT as cute, they are much bigger. An average model engine will be about a FOOT long. That's why you should consider the smaller, N scale:
  • So, welcome to our site and... Happy hunting !
